The NAACP Georgia State Conference convention that was held on October 10-12 had to be transformed at the last minute from an in-person meeting to a virtual meeting because of the extensive damage when hurricane Helene passed through Augusta. • Recognized as one of the “top 10” Georgia units for number of members. (Our rank is 7th, just behind much more populous jurisdictions such as Chatham County and the Atlanta Branch.)
