What is this election about?
The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (which adds 1 cent to every dollar that you spend to buy something in Camden County) will expire on June 30, 2025. The four Camden County governments, the Joint Development Authority, and the Public Service Authority have negotiated an inter-government agreement to extend the SPLOST for another six years, subject to the approval of Camden County voters.
When and where is the election?
Early in-person voting is between February 24 and March 14. During this advance voting period, you can cast your vote at any polling location that is open:
- County Annex Bldg, 107 Gross Rd, Kingsland - 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on every weekday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on the two Saturdays (March 1 & March 8) in that interval.
- Elections Office, 200 E 4th St, Woodbine - 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday, March 3, through Friday, March 17, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 8.
- Welcome Center, 400 Osborne St, St. Marys - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, and 7:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14.
Your last opportunity to vote will be 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18 (Election Day). On that day, you will need to go to the polling location for the precinct where you live.
