Announcing the second issue of our annual Camden Georgia Black History book, which will go on sale for $25 / copy at our Juneteenth Jubilee on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The deadline to purchase a sponsorship ad and to reserve your copies at the pre-order price of $20 is May 1.
The section on Education describes the nearly two decades of first "massive resistance" and then token "Free Choice" integration between the 1954 Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Eduction and the move to new consolidated Camden County High School in the Spring of 1971.
If you were a student, teacher, or parent in Camden County during that time and are willing to contribute your memories to research for the story, please let us know by sending an email with the subject line "oral history project" to naacp5177@gmail.com.
